16th Century Padded Doublet:
The doublet introduced in early fourteenth century as part of military dress. Padded Doublets have been used by militaries for more than 300 years with the changes in shape and design over time. Padding in doublets protects wearer from plate armors sharp edges. It was an advancement in military armor and dresses. earlier doublet was called a pourpoint or gipon. Doublets are worn over loose and soft linen shirts. Later doublets were enhanced with different designs and amended as per warrior demands.
