The Roman Subarmalis is a historical piece of armor was utilized for the comfort and durability of the soldier on the battlefield. Roman Subarmalis is that piece of military gear essential to any Roman legion and which is worn under heavier armor such as a cuirass. The soldier gets the needed comfort and durability without losing the advantage of protection. Most of the Roman Subarmalis was made of cotton canvas fabric with polyester padded for the purpose of cuts and bruises so that the wearer could move comfortably enough. This Subarmalis allowed Roman soldiers to engage in fast-paced combat with an ease to quickly reposition themselves and respond to threats. The Subarmalis was often worn along with a long shirt called tunic which added comfort to the long standing hours of battle.
