Description
Germanic Spangenhelm – 6th to 9th Century Early Medieval Helmet:
The Spangenhelm is one of the most famous helmets from the Early Medieval and Migration Periods. It was being used a lot from the 6th to the 9th centuries. Germanic warriors, like the Franks, Saxons, Lombards and early Viking groups, liked this design because it was easy to make and offered good protection. The helmet was made of several plates that were riveted together. This made it a strong and cheap way to protect your head on the battlefield.
This replica from Armor Arena has the traditional segmented structure with riveted bands and an early medieval profile that is based on real archaeological finds. Because it is well-made, it can be used for LARP combat, SCA training (depending on the gauge chosen), reenactment events, cosplay, medieval markets, theater productions and movie work.
Armor Arena sells this helmet in a variety of materials and thicknesses, such as 14, 16, 18 and 20-gauge mild steel and 18-gauge stainless steel for people who want a helmet that won’t rust. You can choose between a Dull Finish for a realistic, battle-worn look and a Mirror Finish for a polished display look for each helmet. The helmet has foam padding on the inside to make it comfortable to wear and a leather chin strap with a steel buckle to keep it on securely.
This Spangenhelm is a great deal because it was made with care to be historically accurate and last a long time. Armor Arena is a trusted choice for reenactors and collectors because it guarantees the best quality work at the lowest price.
