Description

Viking Gjermundbu Helmet (Spectacle Helm) – 10th Century Norse Armor:

Our Viking Gjermundbu Helmet – 10th Century is a very accurate copy of the only complete Viking helmet ever found. It was found in a warrior’s grave in Gjermundbu, Norway, during 950 AD. This helmet is a true example of Viking warfare: useful, tough and clearly Norse in style.

Armor Arena made this helmet by hand with professional care and craftmanship. It has a rounded shape of steel cap and a classic spectacle face guard which are true to the spangenhelm style. It protects you and gives you great visibility too. The design is based on the gear that Viking warriors used to wear when they raided and fought in the northern seas of Europe.

You can choose between 14, 16, 18, or 20 gauge mild steel or 18 gauge stainless steel for each helmet. This lets you customize the weight and strength of the helmet. There are two types of surface finishes: a Dull Finish, which gives the item a battle-worn, historical look and a Mirror Finish, which gives it a polished, eye-catching look that is great for display or film use.
The helmet has inside foam padding, a leather chin strap and a strong steel buckle to make it comfortable and keep it on securely.

This helmet is a great mix of historical accuracy and functional quality. It’s perfect for LARP events, SCA combat, reenactments, cosplay, medieval markets, movies, and theater. Armor Arena promises the best craftsmanship at the lowest price, so every piece is a reliable companion for any Viking at heart.
