Description

Authentic Italian Barbute Helmet – Brescia 1470–1480 Style:

This Italian Barbute helmet is made in the style of Brescia armors from around 1470 to 1480.It is a classic 15th-century design that was popular with men-at-arms, infantry and condottieri. The Barbute came from the older bascinet and sallet lines and was based on ancient Greek (“Corinthian”) helmets.

The long sides that sweep forward below the eyes are what make it stand out. They protect the cheeks and lower face well, but they leave a T- or Y-shaped opening for breathing and seeing. Armor Arena’s reproduction stays true to this historic style, but it is built with modern comforts and techniques. The helmet comes in mild steel (14-, 16-, 18- and 20-gauge) and 18-gauge stainless steel, which is better at resisting rust. You can choose between a Dull Finish and a Mirror-Polished Finish based on how you want it to look or how it will be used.

The helmet has inside foam padding and a leather chin strap with a steel buckle that keeps it securely and comfortably fastened. This helmet is great for historical reenactments, LARP, SCA events, cosplay or use in movies and plays because it has an authentic shape, modern materials, and skilled craftsmanship.

Armor Arena is proud to offer the best helmets at the lowest prices, without sacrificing historical accuracy or durability.
