This is a Fist Shield Italian 16th Century the replica of an original from the period circa 1540-1560. It takes inspiration from one of Europe’s most celebrated collections of arms and armor, the Wallace Collection London (A 318). This shield-a.k.a. Square Target, Targa Buckler, Achille Targa or Quadrangular-was often employed in civilian fencing. It was included as one of its special descriptions by Achille Marozzo, greatest fencing master of the entire Renaissance time.
